Prairieland Announces All-Conference Softball Picks

A number of players from Macomb High were named to this year’s Prairieland Conference All-Conference softball team as selected by the league’s coaches.

Senior Kendyl Danner was one of 15 players named to the first team.

Five Bombers received second team accolades.

Seniors Lauren Bishop, Nika Daytner and Olivia Whitney, along with freshmen Kinley Sloan and Josie Elbe were all named to the second team.

Eight players were unanimous selections to the first team. Those players included the following.

Brimfield/Elmwood - Kendyl Binder, sophomore; Brooke Allen, sophomore and Sawyer Drury, junior.

Farmington - Lydia Overcash, senior and Joelle Herbst, junior.

Havana - Hannah Hogsdon, senior and Kaydi Miller, junior.

LVC - Abbie Johnson, senior. Other first team selections included the following.

Brimfield/Elmwood - Adelyn Magee, sophomore.

Farmington - Meaghan Carpener, senior. Havana - Madolyn Howerter, freshman and Ava Kramer, freshman.

LVC - Kacie White, sophomore. Illini West - Kennedy Gunning, junior. Other second team selections included the following.

Brimfield/Elmwood - Josie Wiewel, junior.

Farmington - Addison Rockhold, sophomore.

LVC - Emma Probyn, junior; Sam Thum, senior and Emery Thrasher, freshman.

Havana - Addisyn Atwater, sophomore and Lily Snowden, senior.

Illini West - Ella Shutwell, senior and Natalie Wibbell, sophomore.

Players receiving special mention status included the following.

Brimfield/Elmwood - Schyer Meinders, junior.

Farmington - Sophia Anderson, junior and Kiley Vallas, junior.

LVC - Morgan Patterson, senior.

Illini West - Bella Thompson, sophomore. Current standings for the season were as follows.

In Class 2A, Brimfield/Elmwood was scheduled to play Beecher (34-2) in super-sectional play at the Eastside Centre in East Peoria.

In Class 1A, Havana was scheduled to face Carrollton (35-1) in super-sectional play at Athens.
