MACOMB - PEO Chapter ME of Macomb, is pleased to announce the awarding of a $1,000 Scholarship to Miss Nika Daytner, daughter of Gary and Katrina Daytner of Macomb. This scholarship, for a Macomb High School female, is awarded based on academic record, service to school and community, future goals, and financial need, as well as a recommendation from someone who knows her well. Nika has been involved with a number of activities and clubs at school, including Student Council, National Honor Society, Softball, and Volleyball, and has earned the distinction of being an Illinois State Scholar, and served as Senior Class President. She has been active in volunteering in the community for various events, as well. Nika plans on attending the University of Illinois to pursue a degree in Elementary Education, as well as an endorsement in ESL (English as a Second Language), to help ease the transition for students struggling to learn English.
PEO is a philanthropic educational organization for women with chapters in the United States and Canada.
