Avon Memorial Day Parade

The Memorial Day parade starts at 11:00a.m. Monday, May 26th and proceed to the cemetery for the Roll Call of the Dead. There will be transportation for those Veterans wishing to ride in the parade. There will also be hayracks at the cemetery to bring parade walkers back to the Fire House. Those parade marchers who return their flags will receive a certificate for ice cream at Just Not Another Dip.

The Avon Fire Department is having their annual porkchop/ hotdog meal fundraiser. The Angels in Action will have desserts available as well as chances for their raffle items.

The Blandinsville-Good Hope-Sciota

Veterans Memorial Committee will conduct a Memorial Day program Saturday, May 24, at 1 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial on Main Street, Blandinsville. They will honor the fallen and four local WWII heroes: Lt. Karl James, Sgt. Glenn Oliver, Pvt. Duane George and Pvt. Bill Soland. Bring your lawn chair and help honor our hometown heroes. In case of inclement weather the program will be held at the Blandinsville Methodist Church, 220 W. Adams Street. Chairlift and wheelchair ramp are available at the Methodist Church.

Bushnell

Memorial Day service is 11:00 at Veterans Park, Monday May 26. In case of bad weather it will be held at the VFW

Colchester

Memorial Day service will be held Saturday, May 24 at 11 am Downtown Colchester - Corner of Market and Fulton (Lions Club Building in case of rain). Dedication Speaker: Dave Saunders

Macomb American Legion

The American Legion will be honoring our nation’s heroes on Monday, May 26 at 10:30am at the American Legion, 221, E. Washington St., Macomb.
